Where you'll be
The name is well earned displaying world-class views of the sinking sun over the skyline. 360 degrees of the greatest sights Santa Fe has to offer are visible from every space - even the laundry room! Located just southeast of Santa Fe, Sunset Haven sits perched on 10 acres of high desert, a turn up the road from Old Route 66, and an easy 15-minute drive to the renowned Santa Fe Plaza. This is an older home, built for comfort and ease, from the covered walkway to the large, angled deck. Simply stated, it’s spectacular. This place is nothing short of luxe and repose. Come revel in the vibrant and vivid color scheme while indulging in the beautiful décor richly presented throughout this abode.
There's room for the whole gang to spread out and get comfortable at Sunset Haven. Settle into the formal living room with comfy sofas and chairs gathered around a fireplace for new conversations with some old friends. For a little mood music, the living room has a rockin’ soundbar sitting on a shelf just ready to be flipped on with a smartphone. Never feel left out or disconnected with this open floor plan, flowing from living to dining space, from the kitchen to game room. The game room comes complete with a regulation size shuffleboard table, flat screen TV, DVD player, board games, and books. Just sink into the comfortable leather sectional, pop some popcorn and put on a movie. Whether your passion is reminiscing with loved ones, playing video games, or rediscovering the joy of backgammon, Sunset Haven has a pleasant spot just right for you!
And when the group gets peckish, you can explore fine dining with this gourmet kitchen right here at Sunset Haven. Stainless-steel appliances, tile backsplashes, a big breakfast bar that doubles as a workstation island, dropped lighting, and cabinets packed with cookware, serving dishes, and utensils -- everything is waiting for you here! Pick up a few groceries on the way in, and you will find yourself equipped to do anything from chopping to blending to baking. What a great time to discover and try new and exciting recipes. Nothing is more fun than a night "in" to stretch out your creative culinary skills.
Of course, if you actually want to dine in as a group, gather in the sunny dining room at Sunset Haven and feast to your heart's content! The views will keep you interrupting one another to point out spectacular changes in the sky, and before you know it, you may have cleared away the dishes and set up a board game. Prepare yourself for a night of family fun!
Chances are, though, you will want to dine al fresco as often as possible at Sunset Haven. There's simply no resisting this big, wide-open deck, with plenty of seating, bistro tables, and views from every angle. Prepare to make the folks back home jealous with photos of mountains, rolling foothills, and good food!
When the final glass has been drained and everyone has wished upon a star, it will be time to hit the hay. Sunset Haven boasts four bedrooms with four baths. There is no lack of space here! One bedroom has a king bed, two bedrooms are equipped with queen-sized beds, plenty of windows, and closets to stash all that ski equipment or hiking gear. The primary suite is set up so that you can watch the sunset right from the bed -- or, if that's not close enough, slip out the door to the deck for a better view! The ensuite bath offers a walk-in shower, and of course, every bed and bath here at Sunset Haven is equipped with linens, towels, and spares. Snuggle up and enjoy your rest after a busy day in Santa Fe! The fourth bedroom has bunk beds—two full and two twins. A twin-sized mattress on top and a double on the bottom is a perfect spot to place the kids in for their sweet night dreams. And there is still floor space to set up race car tracks and playhouses, so they can entertain themselves while the grown-ups sleep-in late!
The other two bedrooms are equally well-appointed and tastefully decorated. Sunset Haven boasts 4 full bathrooms, so there will be no one rushing anyone out in the mornings. Tubs, as well as showers, are available, suiting everyone's needs. We even have a big laundry room, complete with washer and dryer for those days that might get a bit messy.

Nice layout, well-supplied, but a few minor maintenance issues - nothing that affected our stay. There are some throw rugs that tended to slide or bunch up under foot, so you may want to put those out of the way for safety (put them back before you leave). I was surprised to learn (after we booked) that there was no electronic door lock. We had to drive into Santa Fe to the office to pick up the keys. The deck is a nice feature, and the views are also nice. WiFi is via DSL, so not very fast (~3Mbps down), but usable.

Awesome views and a whole lot of space for everyone. Everyone on the family enjoyed themselves. The kids room (downstairs) was colder than the other rooms. Since we did not want to leave the heater running all night, we just gave the kids extra blankets to keep warm. I’m sure during the summer that is not an issue. The Villa had all amenities needed plus more.
