La Vida Buena
Where you'll be
La Vida Buena is right in the heart of Santa Fe, in a quiet, leafy neighborhood just a mile from the Plaza. The house is New Pueblo-style, with wood-burning kiva fireplaces, handsome viga ceilings, and all the little touches that make a home unique. Best of all, it is set in a large lot with a lovely garden, several patio spaces, and plenty of greenery for you to enjoy!
Step inside and admire the southwestern colors and handsome style of La Vida Buena. The living room is dominated by a bank of windows with beautiful modern stained glass, turning the sunlight bright colors as it falls into the room. A handsome leather couch and banks of pillows on built-in seating invite your group to relax around the fireplace or watch the large flat-screen mounted on one wall. Everything is neat, spotless, and utterly charming. This is northern New Mexico living at its finest!
Adjacent to the living room are the kitchen and dining areas, painted in bright colors and immaculately appointed. You will love the stainless-steel appliances and well-stocked cupboards in the kitchen, which is fit for the finest chef. No matter what you yearn to make -- from a simple snack to a family feast -- you will find what you need here. All the time-saving countertop appliances are here too, to get you up and moving in the morning: coffeemaker, toaster, and more. Just add groceries!
The dining room is a spacious and beautiful area, with a table that seats 4 and a second wood-burning kiva fireplace for warmth and atmosphere. This room also doubles as a game center, so your group can divide up between those who want to watch a movie in the living room and those engrossed in cards. You will love how roomy La Vida Buena is, with plenty of private areas so that each member of your party can really spread out and feel at home.
And when it's time to retire for the night and rest up before another great day in Santa Fe, two very comfortable bedrooms await you. Each has a queen-sized bed and access to one of the two bathrooms at La Vida Buena, beautifully tiled and stocked with all the linens and towels you could wish for.
As beautiful as the house is, the patio and garden may rival it for nonstop appeal. A wide stone patio beneath a canopy of wooden poles offers dappled shade and a cozy spot for eating and chatting, surrounded by pinon pines. A chiminea warms the patio late into the night, keeping the conversation going long after the final glass of wine is empty.
A second outdoor area offers a path leading to a state-of-the-art gas grill, just right for concocting a feast from all the delicacies brought home from Santa Fe's famous farmer's market. This spot offers both sun and shade for the chef, with easy access to the kitchen as well.
Finally, there is a covered area beside the house just for conversation and enjoying the garden view. La Vida Buena is set back from the street, with plenty of greenery along its garden paths.
Comfy padded wicker furniture welcomes you to enjoy a tete-a-tete in any season. Bring a beverage and linger out here as evening turns to nightfall, enjoying the crisp mountain air and beautiful wildlife of the garden. It's hard to believe you are in the middle of the city, just minutes from the Plaza!
La Vida Buena is an oasis of privacy and beautiful outdoor as well as indoor spaces. This charming family home has everything you need to be properly pampered during your stay in Santa Fe. Come visit here very soon!

Good location, ie close to Plaza. Parking is difficult, especially in the dark, and the house is not easy to find, given that it is behind another home, and there is overgrowth almost covering the house numbers on the wall. If you are looking for the true Santa Fe architecture, this is it! And it is exquisitely decorated.

The proximity to downtown and the authenticity of the SW home. Outdoor space was cute. But needed some trimming and lead blowing.
