Description for Turtle Mountain Cabin
The wooded hideaway of Turtle Mountain Cabin comfortably sleeps four and is conveniently located near the Mountain Gods and downtown Ruidoso. It’s the perfect place for a family to relax and enjoy a New Mexico adventure!

The location is hardly the only aspect of Turtle Mountain Cabin that is exceptional, however. For starters, there is the sprawling wraparound deck and covered patio. Begin your morning sipping coffee on the deck as hummingbirds flutter about. Enjoy lunch in the shade of the patio; perhaps you’ll see deer or wild turkeys stroll by. Cook dinner on the large gas grill and dine alfresco amid the pine-fragranced mountain breezes. Step outside with your sweetheart for a nightcap in the silvery moonlight before turning in.

The interior of Turtle Mountain Cabin is just as delightful. The living area’s plush sectional sofa invites the whole family to sprawl out and watch a movie on the HDTV with Blu-ray player or play charades by the warming glow of the fireplace. To play board games, you can stretch out on the rug or set up at the Southwestern-style dining table, which seats four. The dining area also has a handsome breakfast bar that seats three—perfect if you’re inviting friends over for drinks. You can also set up your laptop at the bar and take advantage of the complimentary WiFi to schedule tee times, check email, and make dinner reservations.

Then again, once you see how beautifully equipped the kitchen is, you might want to eat all your meals in. Along with sparkling stainless-steel appliances and a wealth of gleaming granite countertops, the kitchen includes a plethora of cookware, tableware, storage, and elbow room.

A good night’s sleep is key to a rejuvenating vacation. Turtle Mountain Cabin’s two inviting bedrooms make it easy to catch plenty of shuteye. A king-size bed, with industrial-chic sconces attached directly to the handsome wood headboard, is the centerpiece of the master bedroom. This room also has a wall-mounted HDTV and French doors that open onto the deck. After the kids are asleep, you and your special someone can revel in the serenity that is evening in the Sierra Blanca region.

The second bedroom includes a queen-size bed, making Turtle Mountain Cabin as well suited for two couples as it is for a family of four. As restful as the master bedroom, this room has its own HDTV. Perhaps the most charming room in the cabin, though, is the bathroom, where you can choose between a steamy shower or a luxurious bath in the claw-foot tub.

When you arrive at Turtle Mountain Cabin, you’ll find the beds impeccably made up and plenty of clean towels in both the bathroom and the half-bath—no need to bring your own. In fact, because the cabin has its own washer and dryer, you can pack lighter than usual.

The two-bedroom home is only a five-minute drive from Inn of the Mountain Gods, a resort that’s home to a casino, a golf course, a lake with fishing and boating, and a nightclub. Equally close are downtown Ruidoso, known for its artisan boutiques, art galleries, and eateries, and Grindstone Lake, where you can canoe, kayak, paddleboard, and fish on the lake itself, bike and hike the surrounding trails, and play disc golf. Drive a bit farther and you can be at the Hubbard Museum of the American West, Ruidoso Downs, and even more attractions.

If you’re visiting in winter, a vehicle with four-wheel drive or tire chains is strongly recommended, as Ruidoso is a mountain town that gets its share of snow and ice. Of course, if you’re vacationing here in winter, the snow is probably part of the attraction (and Ski Apache is only 45 minutes away). Whenever you visit, however, you’ll love the comfort, charm, and convenience of Turtle Mountain Cabin. See for yourself; book your stay today.
