Description for Ruidoso Respite
Ruidoso Respite is ideal for a multifamily vacation. Not only does it sleep 16 people, but the property also features 2 buildings—5 bedrooms in the main house 1 in the guesthouse. You’ll be able to make wonderful memories together while enjoying plenty of privacy.

The main house is a sprawling oasis with not one but 2 spacious living rooms. With a fireplace and oversized windows looking out onto the well-manicured grounds, the “formal” living room invites you to catch up with friends over après-ski drinks or to unwind with a book after a day of hiking or golf. Sliding doors open onto the patio, where you can pamper yourself with a soak in the roomy hot tub. After the jets of steamy water have worked their magic, kick back on one of the patio’s Adirondack chairs and savor cocktails under the star-studded sky by the glow of one of Ruidoso Respite’s 2 fire pits. What a glorious way to end the day!

The 2nd living area of the main house is part of the great room. With multiple sofas and a large flat-screen TV with satellite channels, this space is perfect for movie night. One of the main house’s 2 dining areas also makes up the great room; the 2nd dining area is on the other side of the kitchen. And wait till you see this kitchen: It’s handsome, huge, and equipped with all the appliances, cookware, and tableware you could possibly need. Even normally reluctant chefs might find themselves eager to get cooking in here, though you might also want to fire up the patio’s large grill, especially if you reel in some trout from one of the nearby lakes.

The 5 bedrooms of Ruidoso Respite’s main house are just as lavish as the common rooms. The master suite is large enough to accommodate a king-size bed, a fireplace, a desk, a sitting area, and a large flat-screen TV, with room to spare. The master bathroom is more spacious than some hotel rooms we’ve seen, with twin vanities, a wealth of storage, and a gorgeous tiled shower. The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms each have a queen-size bed along with a TV; the 3rd bedroom has an ensuite cozy and compact bath.

The 4th and 5th bedrooms and the living area in the main house are on the lower level commonly known as the Annex. The 4th bedroom is furnished with a pair of twin beds. The 5th bedroom is furnished with a pair of bunk beds, sleeping four people. The Annex bath is spacious with a long two-sink vanity and shower/tub combo. The kids will love the Annex as it has its own play area with a large flat screen TV making this their private clubhouse or simply another living space for groups without children. The living space is furnished with a queen sleep sofa.

A 2nd king-size bed is in Ruidoso Respite’s guesthouse. Like the main house’s master suite, this bedroom has its own sitting area with a large flat-panel TV. The room opens to a kitchenette with a refrigerator/freezer, a microwave, a sink, a toaster, and a coffee maker as well as a small dining table, so you can enjoy breakfast before heading over to the main house or a late-night snack before heading to bed. The guesthouse also has a living room with its own large TV and comfy sofa as well as its ensuite spacious bath.

Among its other amenities, Ruidoso Respite offers free WiFi, a washer, a dryer, and parking for multiple vehicles in its flat driveway. (Please note that if you’re visiting in winter, vehicles with 4-wheel drive and/or tire chains are strongly recommended. Also, the garage is not available for use by guests.) Just as important, the home is close to plenty of local attractions. Alto Lake and Recreation Area are just 10 minutes away; when you’re not fishing you can explore the surrounding trails on foot, mountain bike, or horseback. A few minutes further are the galleries and artisan shops of Sudderth Drive. And Ski Apache is only 40 minutes away.

When you stay at Ruidoso Respite you can do it all—or if you’d prefer, do just kick-up your feet and luxuriate in the hot tub, relax by the fireplace, and kick back on the patio, or view Sierra Blanca at sunrise or under the stars at the pergola in the company of your nearest and dearest. No matter how you spend your time here, however, you’re sure to love it. See for yourself; book your stay today!

Reviews for Ruidoso Respite
Great house for a large family
Everything was fine. Except don’t have a snow shovel (that arrive later) and a mop for cleaning inside. We bought one. Now they have one.  We loved the house.
