Description for Dancing Bear
Who could resist the charm of Dancing Bear? Within walking distance of the quaint village of Ruidoso and close to the Sierra Blanca mountain range, this charming two-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bathroom cabin is perfect for outdoor-loving families or groups of friends.
Full of rustic charm, Dancing Bear combines modern comfort with vintage appeal. The snug living room features a colorful area rug, sumptuous leather sofa facing two large picture windows and a flat-screen cable HDTV. A cozy table for four at the far end of the living room is a great spot to bond over a family meal or a game of cards. A small, galley kitchen includes a double sink, mini fridge, microwave, stovetop, coffeemaker and enough cookware and utensils for you to prepare anything from a country breakfast to an afternoon snack.
To ensure you and your family are well rested for the amazing sporting activities the area has to offer, Dancing Bear has two bedrooms with space to sleep up to six people. One bedroom has a comfortable queen-size bed and an overhead ceiling fan to lull you to sleep. A futon provides a great place to relax with a good book, or you can unfold it to sleep two more! The second bedroom features twin bunk beds (kids especially will love these!) and a cozy, built-in window seat. In addition to the full bathroom with shower/tub combo, a half bathroom adds much-appreciated convenience. Both bathrooms will be well stocked with clean, fluffy towels.
The outside of Dancing Bear is just as charming as the inside. The quaint front porch holds a rustic wooden bench where you can sit and enjoy your morning coffee while you watch the world come awake. Out back a large, partially covered shared deck is dotted with chairs and features a gas grill, making it an ideal setting for a family barbecue.
Built by a master carpenter in the 1940s, Dancing Bear is one of six larger cabins that make up the Bear Mountain Lodge group of cabins; they’re a great choice for multiple families traveling together! These cabins have been updated to provide modern convenience while still retaining their original vintage look. Honey-colored, stone and knotty pine walls and ceilings combine with the warm tones of the bedding, carpet and window coverings to add to the overall cozy feel, while beautiful handcrafted details show up in the most unexpected places.
Conveniently located near the Village of Ruidoso, the Bear Mountain Lodge cabins are just minutes from restaurants, shopping and fascinating art galleries. The surrounding area is loaded with opportunities for outdoor adventurers, from skiing at the nearby Ski Apache resort to hiking and mountain biking in Lincoln National Forest. During the summer, Ruidoso Downs Racetrack features horse racing while, northeast of the village, history buffs can enjoy exploring the 19th Century adobe and stone buildings and museum of the Lincoln Historic Site. There’s something for everyone in Ruidoso, so book your mountain stay today!
